Eat, drink, relax or celebrate at Penarth Marina
Located in the marina’s inner basin Pier 64 is a lovely wine bar and restaurant offering a magnificent choice of prime Welsh beef cuts, fresh fish and vegetarian dishes. The terrace is the perfect spot to watch the activity in the marina whilst enjoying a beer or some al fresco dining. Unfortunately, Pier64 is currently closed, but don't worry, there are plenty of other options around Penarth.
The Galley is located at the entrance to C & D pontoons in the inner basin. This award winning café is very popular and serves a delicious selection of coffees, cakes and light bites. Visit the Galley Cafe.
Located just a few yards from the Marina Office and overlooking the Barrage Locks, the Custom House comprises two restaurants. El Puerto is a bustling open plan setting on the ground floor and La Marina is a more formal serene offering on the first floor. Visit the Custom House.
Only a short stroll west of the marina The Oystercatcher offers pub grub, breakfast & draft beer in low-key surrounds with multiple rooms and a great beer garden. It’s part of the Hungry Horse chain. Visit the Oystercatcher public house.
Just south of the Marina, but high on the hill with spectacular views overlooking Cardiff Bay, you’ll find The Pilot. Whether you fancy a pint of one of the frequently changing guest ales, a glass of wine whilst cosying up on the fireside sofas, or a delicious meal, The Pilot offers the great pub classics you would expect from your local, as well as seasonal specials with flavours inspired by the old seafaring captain whose image has been on the traditional pub sign for years. Just across the Bay for the marina you’ll find the bustling bars and restaurants at Mermaid Quay and Cardiff Waterfront. This is an easy destination and the public pay and display pontoons are available immediately out side the venues.
A short train or taxi ride from the marina will get you into the heart of the city. There’s an excellent range of pubs and eateries to suit every taste. From the newly opened Ivy restaurant to the well-established Old Arcade Brains pub. On rugby match days there’s no better place to enjoy a few beers.
Penarth Town centre is a short walk up the hill from the marina. The town centre has a range of great cafés, bakeries, pubs and restaurants and take-aways. There is something to suit all tastes and marina staff can point you to their favourites.
