Try something new at Royal Quays Marina
Oceanic Sea School, our on-site partner provides RYA recognised power boat training for all levels from taster sessions, through beginner, and up to advanced and instructor levels for both leisure/fun users and commercial clients. Training can take place aboard the schools two high speed RIB’s, aboard your own boat or the on-site classroom.
Step aboard and learn to sail on a top-notch Hallberg Rassy cruising yacht with our partner Northumbria Sailing. Offering both on board practical and shore-based theory courses from competent crew up to Yachtmaster Ocean, as well as adventure trips, Northumbria Sailing is the leading provider of sail cruising courses in the north east.
Our ‘Active Marina’ events programme provides a series of social gatherings and basic training events aimed at helping marina users to get more from their time at the marina by meeting other boatowners and their families and crew and by building confidence through basic tuition. Particularly popular our introductory ‘locking and docking’ sessions, and of course our annual summer party.
For those who fancy trying their hand at the fantastic sea fishing the north east coast offers, or maybe diving some of the many wrecks and reefs, a fleet of charter boats at the marina offer the chance to get afloat. Most boats offer full day and evening trips.
Sailing can change lives and inspire futures, and thanks to our local charity OYT (North) young people can experience the benefits of sail training regardless of ability or means. We’re proud to be home port for the trust’s 72’ Ketch ‘James Cook’ Look out for her. She’s the big yellow yacht and quite unmistakable.
Go in search of dolphins, whales and seabirds from Royal Quays Marina. Northern Experience Wildlife Tours have partnered with resident charter vessel JFK Two to offer mostly summer evening but also some longer day trips with an expert guide.
