Royal Quays
Visitors to Royal Quays Marina should be aware that parking charges have been in place on the site since January 2022 and are applicable 24/7.
Marina Berth Holders, tenants and customers of The Lock park for free, but members of the public and non-berth holders will need to pay to park.
Customers of the The Lock need to take action by entering their vehicle's registration number on arrival in the cafe.
At Royal Quays Marina there is a two-tiered charging system with a good value ‘standard’ tariff car park located alongside the East Quay (with two entrances off Coble Dene Road), and a higher cost ‘premium’ Tower Car Park closest to the marina office. Both car parks are identified on the signs located around the site.
Customers of The Lock Café can park for up to 4 hrs free in either the East Quay Car Park or the Tower Car Park but MUST enter their vehicle's registration number in the kiosk situated inside the cafe. Please make sure to enter the registration number correctly on the screen (taking care to enter numbers and letters carefully) and then tap the 'ACCEPT' and 'CONFIRM' buttons on screen. If you are uncertain about the process then please ask one of The Lock staff or Marina staff for asssitance.
Business visitors, delivery drivers, boatpoint customers and anyone else on official business at the marina should come to the Royal Quays Marina office (on the 1st floor of the admin building) to register their vehicles.
Anyone else using the car parks at Royal Quays Marina (including passengers on private boat charters, dog walkers, non-cafe customers) is expected to pay for their stay. Please pay ON EXIT (and not on arrival) at the specific pay station for either the Tower Car Park or the East Quay Car Park - please check the instructions on the signage in the car parks carefully before paying to ensure you are using the correct pay station. Before leaving you need to enter your vehicle registration number into the payment machine in the car park you are parked in and it will calculate the amount due.
Payment can be made by card or using the Sippi app.
Blue Badge holders who are customers of The Lock park for free in either car park but must enter their vehicle's registration number into the kiosk inside The Lock.
For blue badge holders who are not customers of The Lock, there is free parking available in the East Quay Car Park but note that on exit you must enter your vehicle's registration number and scan the bar code on your photo id card at the pay station before departing - follow the on screen prompts.
There is NO free parking for blue badge holders in the Tower Car Park, unless you are a customer of The Lock.
The car parking is managed by Premier Park Ltd. Parking enforcements is by Automatic Number Plate Recognition Cameras (ANPR) which records the vehicles registration number on arrival and departure.
Those users entitled to park for free (eg berth-holders and boat owners) are pre-registered and will be recognised by the camera system and exempt from parking enforcement. Registered users may park in both the Tower Car Park and the East Quay Car Park. Berth-holders who need to amend registration numbers of any of their vehicles to benefit from free parking should notify any changes direct to the Marina Office, and not via the boatfolk app at present.
