Water wings Sports day.

As a nod to tradition and embracing the Seven estuary tide range and in memory of the Hardy few who liked nothing more than a spot of cricket on the recently dried sand banks, Portishead Marina have challenged our Portishead yacht & sailing club neighbours to a spot of sports at low water. It should be something of a spectacle hopefully for all the right reasons. The sports day may be limited by the ever presence of the incoming tide and a rapidly decreasing pitch but it has all the potential for a lot of fun. There are great hopes a trestle table and three barrels of something refreshing will make it out there and a flotilla of spectating craft may join the throng to see who emerges victorious or just wet.
