Going Green at Conwy Marina

New electrical vehicle charging points installed

Over the last two years we have seen a growing interest in eco-friendly vehicles amongst our berth holders and visitors. As part of our work towards a more sustainable future, we have installed electric vehicle charging points at Conwy Marina.

Two EV charging points have been installed at the marina and their location has been added to the UK’s car charging network. The charge points are primarily designed to allow boat owners to plug in their electric vehicle, go boating, and return to them fully charged.

Jon Roberts, Conwy Marina Manager says:

“Feedback so far has been very positive, and we are seeing a steady increase in the use of electric and hybrid vehicles by our berth holders. Boat owners find it very useful to have the plug-in charge points available and they are used regularly. We are pleased to be one of the first marinas in North Wales to install Electric vehicle charge points and one of few across the UK.”

The charge points are rated to 40 amps and are suitable for most EVs. Electric vehicle charging is available 24/7 (depending on the charging time, 1-8 hours). The charging bays are located on the visitor car park and dedicated EV-Electric cards can be purchased from the marina office.
