Important documents to read

 Sign in/ Sign out

·         A contractor wishing to have daily access must report to the marina office upon arrival.

·         Fill out a Daily contractor registration form and sign into the visitor book.

·         Sign out at the marina office in the visitor book.

Access to Vessels

·         If you require access to keys that are held by the marina office, the owner of the vessel must have given prior permission for you to draw the keys.

·         Without permission the marina staff will not authorise access.

Yard Rules

·         It is your responsibility to dispose of waste from the boat in a safe and appropriate way, this may include removal from site to a suitable facility.

·         There are water sources around the boatyard however it is not always possible to have the boat near one. Contractor is responsible for supplying hoses with extensions if needed.

·         The electric supply is metered and will be charged to the customer. Use existing connection, do not plug into new socket without permission.

·         Children and animals should not be allowed onboard boats ashore.

·         Always keep dogs on leads and children under close control.

·         Do not move or tamper with boat stands, cradle arms or other boat supports. Ask our staff for help.

·         Only approach the hoist dock, boat hoist, crane or boatmover when accompanied by a member of staff.

·         Any sanding works must be well extracted as to not cause harm to anyone else in the vicinity or their property.

·         Please ensure that any work area is left clean, tidy and free of any debris.

Waste Disposal

·         A waste disposal area is available on our site.

·         Please only dispose of substances / items that are listed in the waste area.

·         Only dispose of waste that is accumulated from jobs you are conducting on our site.

·         We do not accept any pyrotechnics, fire extinguishers or pressurised cylinders.

Prohibited works

·         No “hot works” are permitted onsite without prior written approval.

·         No diving without prior written approval.

Pontoon Safety

·         Safety ladders are fitted around the marina, this is detailed on the Rhu marina plan.

·         SOS bollards are located around the pontoons, locations are on the Rhu marina plan. These all hold a life ring and fire extinguisher.

·         In the event of someone falling into the water, please alert the marina office by calling 01436 820238 or berthing master mobile 07485 305921.

·         If you fall into the water, stay calm, shout for help and try to make your way to the nearest safety ladder.

·         We recommend always wearing a life jacket whilst on the pontoons.

·         Please do not obstruct the pontoon walkways.

·         Please return trollies to the trolley parks when you have finished with them.

Fire Procedures

·         If you discover a fire please dial 999 immediately and inform the marina office on 01436 820238.

·         In the event of a fire please proceed calmly to the fire muster point which is located at You & Sea School

·         In the event of a fire on the pontoons an alarm will sound. Direction for evacuation will be given. If the route back the pontoon bridge head is impeded by the fire, please proceed to the furthest up-wind hammerhead pontoon from the fire. A workboat will be deployed to bring you to safety

·         Fire in a building – all building are fitted with smoke alarms, upon hearing the smoke alarm, please alert a member of staff.

·         Weekly fire alarm checks take place, a member of staff will inform everyone in the building of the test prior to it taking place.
