Following thorough consultation with The Yacht Harbour Association and the governing bodies of our industry, we now have a clear path to normality for our Marinas in England and are working hard to establish the same for our Marinas in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. Following thorough consultation with The Yacht Harbour Association and the governing bodies of our industry, we now have a clear path to normality for our Marinas in England and are working hard to establish the same for our Marinas in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. In summary, the key dates for Marinas across England are as follows:

  • From the 12th April - Overnight stays allowed for single households; food and drink can be served outside; non-essential retail can reopen. We must minimise travel
  • From the 17th May - 2 households or groups of 6 permitted aboard a vessel (inside and outside); indoor food and drink can be served (seated table service for rule of 6/2 households only). Minimise travel where possible

As we all continue to interpret the ever-evolving advice from the UK government, we ask that any customers, contractors, or visitors to our marinas familiarise themselves with the restrictions in place for that location and follow the rules for the applicable tier, as set out by the UK and devolved Governments.  If in doubt, contact your local marina for more information about the rules in your area.

Positive Covid-19 cases at Portland Marina

As of Thursday 17th June members of the Portland Marina team have tested positive for Covid-19. All necessary actions following government recommendations are being taken. However, we request that you be patient with out on-site team as we currently have reduced staffing on site.

Safety in the marina

When walking around the site please respect other users and maintain social distancing
Practice safe navigation and pass Port to Port
Avoid chatting in the walkways and blocking routes
When using toilets and showers respect others, wash your hands and use sanitizers provided
Avoid visiting the marina office, telephone, radio or email where possible
Wear a facemask in all of our marina buildings

Track & Trace

As per instruction from the UK Government and advice from The Yacht Harbour Association, we are operating a Track & Trace system at all our marinas.

All berth holders, tenants, partners and visitors in England and Wales are required to register their presence on site by using the NHS Track & Trace app to log entry to the site, or by using their personalised access fob.

To use the NHS app, simply scan the QR code displayed at the entry points to the marina and facilities. This will prompt you to register your details on the NHS Track & Trace app and will keep a record of your presence at the marina.  All records will be kept for 21 days, as per the Government advice for Track & Trace.  More information can be found here.

If you use your access fob please note that we will be recording your presence on site.  If required we will be providing this information to NHS Track and Trace, along with your name and contact number for them to use as necessary.  Please ensure you carry your access fobs at all times as we will be limiting entry by access code, and recording the details of everyone who is given the code on a daily basis.  For more information on how we will be processing your information, click here.

In Northern Ireland and Scotland we are operating an alternative Track & Trace system, as per the advice from their respective national Governments. For more information on these measures, please visit:

As always, we will be doing everything we can to keep our marina COVID-safe. The situation is constantly evolving, and we will be keeping you updated on any changes to our procedures as we move forward. For further information, please contact your local marina team, or email us on info@boatfolk.co.uk
