Berthing Offer - Bangor Marina - Southampton International Boat Show

As you may know, our current agreement with the Ards and North Down Borough Council to operate Bangor Marina is scheduled to conclude on the 30th of September, 2024. In light of this, we're pleased to extend a special offer to our Bangor berth holders.

Every year, we traditionally introduce a unique berthing offer during the Southampton Boat Show.

This offer allows you to secure next year's berthing fees at the current year's published berthing tariff.

It's important to note that this offer has a deadline for payment, which is before the 1st of October.

Given the approaching expiration of our contract on 30 September 2024, we've crafted a distinctive two-part offer exclusively for our Bangor berth holders. Here are the details of this special offer:

Part 1: From the 1st of April to the 30th of September, 2024, the berthing rate will be £228.20 per meter.

Part 2: If boatfolk successfully secures the tender bid, for the period from the 1st of October, 2024, to the 31st of March, 2025, the berthing rate will be £97.80 per meter.

When you combine these two parts, the total equals our published annual tariff of £326.00 per meter.

Question 1: Why is Part 1 of our offer set at 70% of the published tariff?

Answer:  The decision to establish Part 1 pricing at 70% of the published tariff reflects a thoughtful strategic approach. In arriving at this pricing structure, we have considered the usage patterns of numerous boat owners, particularly their tendency to use their vessels more frequently during the period from April to September (peak season). This pricing adjustment aligns with our commitment to providing competitive and accommodating options for our valued berth holders.

Question 2: What happens if boatfolk does not win the tender bid?

Answer: If we do not secure the tender bid, the new operator will determine the berthing rates from the 1st of October, 2024. Unfortunately, we cannot predict the exact rates at that time. In the event that a new operator is selected, we will work closely with them to facilitate a seamless transition. We are committed to minimising disruptions for berth holders and will provide clear communication and support throughout the transition period. We understand the importance of continuity in marina services.

Question 3: If I choose not to take up this offer, how much will the berthing tariff increase?

Answer: We have not yet disclosed the berthing rates beyond the 1st of April. However, it is expected that there will be two price increases: one on the 1st of October this year and another before the 31st of March, 2024. Combined, these increases will likely be in line with inflation.
