Become a boatgen ambassador

What is the #boatgen ambassador scheme?

As part of our #boatgen campaign we’re looking for ambassadors who share our belief that young people can benefit from getting out on the water. We want role models who understand the value of sailing and watersports and are passionate about sharing their love of these sports, as well as looking after the environment that makes these sports possible.

As an ambassador your role will be to inspire a community of young people to experience the freedom, challenges and amazing opportunities that come with getting on the water. As part of our network of ambassadors you’ll be the face and voice of #boatgen, becoming an important part of a grassroots movement united in making sailing and watersports accessible to all.

Aged between 16-24 (we can be flexible for the right person!)

What does an ambassador have to do?

We’ll want you to represent #boatgen at key Andrew Simpson Foundation and boatfolk partnership events throughout the year. We’ll match the events with your availability but examples may include the Southampton International Boat Show and Annual ASF fundraising events including Bart’s Bash. These are great opportunities to meet people other #boatgen ambassadors and get to know some of the people who work closely with us including Olympians and inspirational trailblazers!
You’ll help to promote outreach days taking place in your local area throughout the year, supported by the ASF and boatfolk teams.
You’ll be responsible for helping build the boatgen online community on social media through sharing your stories, favourite moments on the water and general #boatgen content

This role can fit around your lifestyle, be tailored to what you’re most passionate about and keen to get involved in. We’ll plan regular check-ins with you to help you support ambassador activity.
