Bangor Marina

We are sad to announce that beyond 31st March 2026, Bangor Marina and Harbour will no longer be operated by boatfolk.

Boatfolk has managed the marina since 2020 and has been engaged in a tender and negotiation process with Ards and North Down Borough Council regarding the marina’s future operation for an extended period.

While the council announced its intention to award a new contract to boatfolk in November 2025, despite extensive efforts and the full support of Premier Marinas who acquired boatfolk in 2025, agreement on the detailed commercial terms could not be reached.

The current management contract will conclude at the end of March 2026, at which point the management of the marina will transition to Ards and North Down Borough Council.

On behalf of boatfolk and the wider Premier Marinas group we would like to thank the team at Bangor for their dedication and hard work, some of whom have served the marina and harbour and its customers for over 30 years. We will continue to support staff as they transfer to the Council under TUPE arrangements from April.

We would also like to thank customers for their continued support, custom and participation in the incredible community we’ve built at Bangor Marina, well as for their loyalty and patience while efforts were made in recent months to reach an agreement.
